Arriving by bike The Western General Hospital site is well serviced by dedicated cycle routes and cycle lanes. The following sites provide information on the network and routes in and around Edinburgh and how to access the site by bike. Edinburgh University Transport Sustrans.org.uk Innertube.com Particularly useful is the car free cycle route which runs from Haymarket Station/Roseburn to Leith around the North of the campus as you can access the hospital site via the Telford Road entrance. The two closest exits from the cycle path are signposted and located at Craigleith Retail Park (follow left onto South Groathill Avenue, right onto Craigleith Hill Avenue) or at Telford Drive (onto Telford Road). Telford Road can be very busy and fast moving, however there is a pedestrian crossing close by the hospital entrance. The roads on site have barriers and pedestrian walkways and dismounting your bike may be required. There are lots of bicycle storage racks located outside the main buildings.
